Every organization is different and there are over multiple variables in calculating what medical waste will cost you. Different types of waste, size of container(s), quantity of containers, frequencies of pickups, and location will all have an effect on your quoted price.
2How often do I need to dispose of my medical waste?
Per California Regulation, Medical Waste Management Act, section 118280. If You Generate: - Less than 20lbs of Biohazardous waste a Month, you may store it onsite for up to 30 days. - 20lbs or more a month, you may store your biohazardous waste onsite for up to 7 days. - Sharps containers ready for disposal may not be stored onsite for more than 30 days. (Sharps waste generally falls under biohazardous waste.) - Pharmaceutical waste ready for disposal may not be stored onsite for more than 90 days.
3How is biohazardous waste treated and disposed?
Regulated medical waste can either be incinerated or disposed via auto-clave at licensed and permitted treatment facilities.
