Service Fees

Ecowaste, as your dependable service provider, is committed to persistently enhancing our programs and services with a focus on cost control. We strive to consistently deliver top-tier customer service. Here, you'll discover more about Ecowaste's service fees. These fees are subject to change and are influenced by a variety of internal and external factors.

Environmental Surcharge

The environmental surcharge we apply helps offset various operational costs. These include fuel expenses, specifically diesel and renewable natural gas (RNG), which power our fleet of vehicles. The surcharge also covers environmental costs, which are a combination of disposal fees we pay when handling waste, as well as taxes and insurance associated with our services. Additionally, there are state-imposed mandates and regulations related to waste disposal and environmental safety that come with associated costs. The surcharge helps us manage these expenses while continuing to provide you with reliable, eco-conscious waste management services.

Delivery Only Fee

Our delivery fee caters to the expenses involved in delivering any supplies you've ordered directly to your location. This fee is akin to a shipping charge, but with the added personal touch of hand delivery by one of our team members. It covers fundamental costs such as labor, transportation, and the time dedicated to executing your delivery.

Outside Coverage

In cases where the pickup or delivery distance surpasses 25 miles, we apply an additional charge per mile. This fee is necessary for us as a local transportation provider to offset the additional labor, transportation, and routing time costs involved in covering extended distances. We adhere to the IRS-sanctioned rate of $0.65 per mile for each way. For more details, please visit: https://www.irs.gov/tax-professionals/standard-mileage-rates

Waste Contamination

As your waste management service provider, we handle a wide array of waste types. During the sales and onboarding process, we assist you in identifying the appropriate waste types and containment methods for your specific needs. Adhering to these procedures is crucial for the safe and compliant disposal of your waste. Should there be any contamination in the containers from unapproved waste or mixed waste types, a contamination fee will be applied. This fee offsets the additional cost we incur in separating the waste at our facility prior to disposal and/or covers any contaminated/mixed waste fees we are charged by the final disposal facilities.

Missed Pickup

A dry-run fee, or missed pickup fee, is applied when our driver arrives at your location for a scheduled pickup but is unable to access your waste storage area, or is rejected or turned away. This fee is necessary to cover the labor, time, and transportation costs involved in reaching your location, even if no waste ends up being collected. To avoid this fee, we recommend notifying us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule your service.

No-Waste Fee

A no-waste fee, which resembles a missed pickup fee, is charged when our driver arrives at your location and there is no waste to collect, and we have not been informed of any service postponement. This fee is necessary to cover the labor, time, and transportation costs involved in reaching your location, even if no waste ends up being collected. To avoid this fee, we recommend notifying us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to reschedule your service.

Given that these fees may fluctuate due to various internal and external influences, please contact our office to obtain the most recent and updated rates.
